CABC Welcomes Two New Additions to its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 12, 2024 — The Canadian American Business Council (CABC) is proud to announce the expansion of its Board of Directors, with the addition of two new members. 

Daniel Lauzon, Senior Director, Public Affairs and Policy (International), CAE 

Laura Hewitt, Senior Vice President & Head, Global Government Affairs and Public Policy, Sun Life 

“We are thrilled to welcome these two new Directors to our Board,” said Beth Burke, CEO of the CABC. “I am confident that their deep expertise, proven leadership, and commitment to fostering strong cross-border relationships will be invaluable as we continue to support and strengthen the bilateral economic ties between Canada and the United States.” 

Daniel joined CAE in 2022 after a 20-year career in public service, including as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Economic Development.  

Laura joined Sun Life in 2018. She has previously worked in government relations, corporate outreach, and held positions with the government of Ontario and the Government of Canada.  

“These additions bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the CABC board that will help fortify our mission,” added Nancy Ziuzin Schlegel, Chair of CABC’s Board of Directors. “We are pleased to welcome them to the Board and look forward to the diverse experiences they will bring to the organization.”
