Canadian American Business Council Welcomes New Leadership Additions

Washington, D.C., October 17, 2023 – The Canadian American Business Council (CABC) is thrilled to announce an expansion to its leadership team with the appointment of three distinguished members to its Board of Directors, as well as one exceptional addition to its Advisory Board. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise, fortifying the CABC’s core mission to cultivate and enhance economic and political partnerships between Canada and the United States.

New Board Members:

Maryscott Greenwood: After leading the CABC for twenty-three years as CEO, Maryscott (Scotty) Greenwood, Head of Global Government Relations, Manulife is joining the Board of Directors. An expert in government relations and international trade and former American diplomat to Canada, her knowledge of the Canada-US relationship will continue to add valuable insights to the CABC.

Mack Moore: In his capacity as the Manager of International Affairs and Political Risk at ConocoPhillips, Mack Moore has been pivotal in shaping the company’s global strategies. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board at the US-Libya Business Association. Mack’s expertise in energy security and his unwavering commitment to fostering international business relations bring immense value to the CABC.

Edward Rihn: With a proven track record in corporate leadership and government relations, including his role as President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Canada, Edward’s expertise will play a pivotal role in advancing the CABC’s mission, opening new horizons for cross-border collaboration.

New Advisory Board Members:

Navdeep Bains: Former Member of Parliament and Minister of Innovation, Science, and Industry for the Government of Canada, Navdeep Bains brings a profound understanding of corporate affairs and global investment banking to the CABC. Currently serving as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Rogers Communications, Navdeep’s rich background spans both the public and private sectors.

These new appointments align with the CABC’s strategic vision to enhance bilateral economic and political cooperation between Canada and the United States. The leadership team will focus on key initiatives, including sustainable trade practices, innovation partnerships, and fostering stronger economic ties across various industries.

Beth Burke, Acting CEO of the Canadian American Business Council, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “As we usher in this new chapter at CABC, we are excited to embrace the wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that our newest board and advisory board members bring. Their contributions will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to bolster the economic and political ties between our two nations.”

Nancy Ziuzin Schlegel, CABC Board of Directors Member, also shared her eagerness about the new appointments, saying, “The CABC has consistently strived to assemble a diverse and exceptional team devoted to propelling cross-border business relations.
